The Production Supervisor (PS) shall be responsible for the direct supervision and coordination of all production activities and employees within their respective departments.
The key to success within our operation is teamwork and cooperation, frequent and engaging interface with employees and departmental teams: Planners/Schedulers, Purchasing, Warehouse, Quality Control, Engineering and Manufacturing personnel.
Leading and supervising a diverse team, the PS shall coordinate daily workload to team members and activities that safely, efficiently, and consistently meet customer delivery and quality expectations. Coordinating across multiple departments, the PS shall execute proactive decision making that promotes the highest effective and efficient production processes, methods, and utilization of company resources. The PS is responsible to administer company policies and procedures, ensure appropriate training, performance management and obstacle removal, conferring with the production manager to resolve grievances.
The PS shall review production demands and schedules on a daily basis to position themselves to understand Open-Order status, as well as understand capacity requirements and identify when/if changes to staffing levels, processes, or equipment are needed in a proactive manner and clearly communicate with management on needs.

Job Duties:
- Foster a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate operations and activities.
- Effective and ongoing management of production/delivery schedules.
- Assign daily workload to team members that align with customer requirements and build schedules.
- Organize and support employees in their day-to-day activities to ensure timely and efficient completion of work.
- Commitment to quality and safety standards.
- Define equipment operations and safe work procedures and assign new employees to experienced workers for training.
- Provide ongoing technical direction, coaching and development of employees.
- Participate in production and process improvement reviews.
- Monitor and assess employee performance and skills.
- Engage with staff in direct performance management conversations including progressive discipline if/when needed with input from Production Manager.
- Increase work efficiency and production rates including suggesting process improvements to enhance production and quality.
- Confer with management or subordinates to improve employee engagement and resolve worker problems, complaints, and grievances.
- Relay production updates from the floor to appropriate team members to provide customer open order updates.
- Support production directives such as specialty projects and activities

- Provide motivation for employees, increasing morale.
- Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications.
- Hands on execution of objectives and training of employees through demonstration if needed.
Work Conditions:
- Hazards associated with welding and fabrication.
- May require work in hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
- May be exposed to dust and high noise levels.
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
