Northside Industries, an industry leader in the manufacturing and assembly of a variety of steel and aluminum fabrications for the Oil and Gas, Forestry, Heavy Duty Truck, and Mining sectors is seeking a full-time Shipper Receiver for its West Kelowna, BC location.  Northside Industries has been serving their customers a wide variety of products for over 50 years, providing only the highest level of workmanship and service to exceed customers’ expectations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Set-up and Operation of a CNC machines that may include Laser tables, Sanding equipment, Waterjet Tables, and Press Brakes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 2 years' relevant brake press experience.
  • Good computer skills.

  • Selecting correct tooling to match necessary forming of parts.
  • Forming a varied range of parts, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Familiar with testing and measuring devices.
  • Ability to read metric and imperial measuring devices.
  • Ability to work shift work if necessary.

  • Strong work ethic.
  • Preference will be given to those with CNC Brake Press programming software experience.

  • Experience using hand tools.

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns, minimizing production downtime

  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed using maintenance software
  • Assist with process improvements and contribute to equipment upgrades
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed, including use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and 5S programs
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and materials
Qualifications

Required skills and experience:

We’re looking for a self-motivated team player who brings a well-rounded maintenance skill set, a safety-first mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Trade certification (Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, or Electrician) is a strong asset
  • Electrical ticket or training is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and (where qualified) electrical systems
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems or a willingness to learn
  • Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics
  • Physical fitness with the ability to lift, bend, and work in elevated or confined spaces
  • Strong time management, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
