Northside Industries, an industry leader in the manufacturing and assembly of a variety of steel and aluminum fabrications for the Oil and Gas, Forestry, Heavy Duty Truck, and Mining sectors is seeking a Sales Representative for its West Kelowna, BC location.

We have an opening for a positive and team-oriented individual to our team providing administration support of purchasing and sales activities.

In the role of ‘Purchasing Administrator’ you will work closely with all production groups, as well as engineering, to ensure the daily and ongoing purchasing needs of our teams are met. Working with our existing supply chain, as well as sourcing new suppliers, you will be responsible for purchasing material, consumables, PPE, outsourced services, packaging etc.

You will communicate with production and suppliers to ensure that production needs are achieved, supplier commitments met and answering any questions to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing.

Additionally, the role is responsible for administrating sales inquiries from initial customer contact thru to quotation. As the initial point of contact for standard product sale inquiries, you shall provide quotations based upon defined pricing structures, interface with engineering on any customer technical questions, and ultimately provide Scheduling with information to proceed with order entry.

Job Duties

  • Proactively work with Company departments and vendors to source products within predetermined specifications at a competitive price.
  • Communicate with all departments on status of existing purchase orders and determine any new requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-time delivery of ordered material
  • Use the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system to generate purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Enter received materials and other items against generated purchase orders.
  • Review purchase order status and coordinate with suppliers to ensure purchase order requirements are met.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of ERP inventory levels and be able to explain and correct discrepancies quickly and prevent recurrences.
  • Address any supplier questions while interfacing internally to understand needs.
  • Review existing pricing and determine any opportunities to reduce costs.
  • Suggest efficiency changes in purchasing channels and processes.
  • Field customer and supplier calls to support cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 2+ years office administration role. Purchasing experience preferred.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • ERP or Scheduling experience preferred.
  • Forecasting experience preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, Outlook)
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Solid organizational, time management and prioritizing skills an asset
  • Strong work ethic and a positive team attitude.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $40,000 to $52,000 per year.
